Restore Our Eath: Join the race & Make a change
Have you seen the movie called Dr. Seuss' The Lorax? if you haven't then let me share it to you.
It's about a boy named Ted, a 12-year-old boy, sets out to search the long-extinct Truffula tree to impress the girl of his dreams. However, in his journey, he has to overcome a number of obstacles. Unfortunately, this movie is exclusively available only in Netflix. But don't you worry, because I took vsome pictures and screenshots for you to see.
It has gone from this :
to this :
and years later it became like this :
A city was born, a city called Theenedville. People in town are fully aware that it's full of plastic and is all fake, but they liked it that way. A town without nature, not one living tree. Trees are manufactured and are made in factories. Each tree is generated by approximately 96 batteries. What runs the town you may ask? technology, every there's a need product in town. What's crazy is that they buy air in a 5 gallon water jug that is assumed to have fresh air inside it. So you see, this is what we could possibly get if we continue acting immoraly and undisciplined.
What clearly is your point, you may ask. Before I answer your question, let me ask you first.
Could you imagine what our life would be without trees and plants, clean healthy air, and breath taking views that nature had gifted us? I know you can, you just don't want to admit it. Is it okay with you that we end up like that in the future? I bet it's not.
If you would give me a chance to help you and our community by teaching you ways on how to protect and care for the environment, these tips could be a big help for us to prevent that nightmare which awaits us. We could make this world the best place to live in, not only better but the best.
To begin with, the change of lifestyle.Let go your old way of living, in short start fresh and new. I know it's difficult to let go of the lifestyle you have already been accustomed to, but you can just think of it as your ex or a crush, you need to let them go and find a new one. That's too corny, yeah I know. But all joking aside, if you want to help rebuild the earth we live in, then start by switching into a environmentally concious lifestyle. Use products that are organic and the packaging should be decomposable. It's more expensive than plastic and products who came from factories by 1 or 2 dollars but atleast you can guarantee that it's safe not only for you but to the environment as well. And when it comes to shopping, you must learn how to shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag. It's more convenient and environmental friendly. In addition, Always bear in your mind that each trash shall be seperated, do the 5R's. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the five "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
Furthermore, try volunteering for cleanups in your community. Do it not because you are forced to, but because you're willing to do so. Show some sincerity to nature if your doing something good, it's very heart-warming, really. Moreover, you can get involved in protecting your watershed, too. Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the home and office. You must know that water is as important as your life. Know how to conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean. It's as easy as blinking your eyes, besides you can save money by doing this one simple thing. Even a 5-year-old can do it, why can't you? see, that's what I'm talking about.
Next, Plant a tree. If you have never tried planting a tree in your whole existance in this world, you're missing out so much.Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change. You are what you plant. You can be a tree. You can be a tree that stands upright, you learn and you grow as you expand your knowledge like the branches of the tree. You can be a tree who put down roots on where you live and provide support to your local community as a tree provides shade and protection for the community (human and wildlife) that live around it. So pick your butt up and do something valuable.
Last but definitely not the least, try to change your way in transportation. Bike more and drive less. Bike commuting helps society in a number of ways. It’s less wear and tear on the public roads, less pollution in the air, less traffic and congestion for other cars, allows more parking spots, and is less noisy through neighborhoods. It's cheaper, healthier, and way more fun. Certainly cars can be fun, but realistically even the most exciting vehicles suck to drive on public roads. Speed limits, other traffic, safety laws, stop lights: all these things handicap and effectively strangle the fun and performance out of riding Riding a bike on the other hand is all about freedom. Not the hokey, cliche wind-in-your-hair type of freedom, more the freedom of ripping downhill at 40mph, accelerating faster and faster until your legs feel like they’re going to fall off, and dipping the bars around that one corner so low you feel the adrenaline surge through the back of your neck. The kind of excitement that, let’s face it, you probably haven’t ever felt on your boring, stressful, annoying commute in a car.
These are just some of the million ways that we can do to protect and care for our evironment. If we don’t take care of our planet, soon, humankind will be in grave danger. To start with, we must carry out simple measures to protect and replenish our environment. Change begins when we step up and volunteer to work towards it. We can plant small saplings at our homes and balconies to make up for the enormous loss of trees. The Environment is a precious gift on this planet. Our Environment is facing a big danger. Saving Environment is the need of the hour. Probably, it is the biggest concern of humanity right now. Any delay in this regard could be disastrous. Take time to look deeper into nature, you will understand everything better.
Quote of the day:
“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make.”
